Nob Hill / Downtown Districts 8 and 9

In the Gold Rush era, San Francisco’s wealthiest property owners built estates on Nob Hill. Today, the Fairmont Hotel and Flood Mansion stand as beautiful reminders of this celebrated past. In other sections of Nob Hill, independent merchants such as barbers and coffee shops add even more depth to the historic atmosphere and at the heart of Nob Hill is Huntington Park, a public park featuring relaxing sitting areas and a replica of Rome’s Fountain of the Tortoises.

Other communities in this area include Telegraph Hill, featuring single-family homes, luxury condominiums and an array of property options, Russian Hill, Potrero Hill, Tenderloin and Van Ness/Civic Center Corridor.

Nightlife and shopping is available in the South of Market community, also called SOMA. Other sites to see in SOMA are the Center for the Arts and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
